Mai Tai
Maita'i
The awesome cocktail party put on by Wayne and Gay was maita'i!
If you speak native Tahitian you know the meaning of maita'i. It literally means "excellence".
It’s no coincidence that Trader Wayne chose to serve his specially crafted Mai Tai. Cheers all around. Everybody freaked at how wonderful the drinks tasted. Potent and refreshing. Perfect compliment to the setting sun.
IT’S FIVE O’CLOCK—TIME TO BLOW THE HORN!
Upon receiving the rest of our guests at the Catalina Express dock we waited for the water taxi to take us out to Bravo Six in Cherry Cove. I mentioned to a passing Harbor Patrol guy, that if the taxi didn't arrive soon, we would miss the horn. We had spoken previously and he knew we were getting married this trip.
Jump in. The patrolman took us out to the Elfinstar in the patrol boat just in time to make acquaintances and a round of drinks with a couple minutes to spare.
At exactly five o'clock the cove was lit up audibly with the sounds of ships horns, bells and of course the Conch shell.
Maybe this day the revelry was for us!
